Developing Inner Leadership: An Interactive Leadership Skill Workshop For the Youth at BHU
I'm thrilled to share my incredible journey conducting leadership workshops for the students at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). It all began with a brilliant idea from @sutapadas, who gathered a dynamic group of professors and students to shape the specifics of these workshops. Now, we're in the midst of delivering short, interactive sessions on topics chosen by the team.
The response to our first two workshops, "Find Your Inner Leader: Your Unique Strengths" and "Self-Confidence," has been overwhelmingly positive. Here are a couple of standout comments:
"An interesting and informative session where I learned the importance of understanding and aligning with core values in leadership. Identifying and leveraging personal strengths while being aware of weaknesses can significantly enhance leadership effectiveness."
"My key takeaway was understanding the factors that drive self-confidence, how to develop it, what obstacles might arise, and strategies for effective presentation."
I extend my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Renu Yadav, Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Dr. Sharad Dhar Sharma, Dr. Ravindra Kumar, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Dr. Projjwal, Zeenat Mahzabin, Chayanika Bhaduri, Ravi Kumar, Vibhum Pratap Yadav, Dr. Kiriti Sahu, Dr. Ahmad, Dr. Ishtiyaque Ahmad, and Gitanjali for their invaluable insights and enthusiasm. A special shoutout to Dr. Sutapa Das for your unwavering drive and motivation – you are the force behind this initiative!
My learnings:
Students are eager and open to learning leadership skills, seeking guidance to understand and build these capabilities.
Students need a safe environment to ask specific questions about the challenges they face. There's immense value in offering larger workshops to introduce leadership topics, as well as smaller, interactive sessions for practicing these skills.
Let’s continue to “Start Strong: Empower Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.”
